Maison Birmingham with Sterling Development Corp..

For this stunning 1914 English revival, inspiration was drawn from the home’s original design elements and character. The same wainscoting from the foyer was brought into the space, but painted white for a fresh feel, while in the kitchen, traditional finishes and styling were chosen. Embracing the 12-foot ceilings and large-scale crown molding allowed the project to shine and feel grand in its own right.

STAIR AND RAILING

1st Place

Moz Interiors with Nightingale Co.

This custom walnut staircase is hand-wrapped in plaster and lime-washed. It replaced the home’s original metal design, which the client’s dog did not like using. The beautiful curve became a much more striking architectural piece than the previous metal structure, drawing your eyes upward to catch the vintage-style bubble pendants staggered over the great room.

Previously used in a guest bedroom, this repurposed bench seating found new life in the lower-level renovation of a 1940s bungalow. Button tufting was removed and a durable black-and-cream textured fabric was chosen for the piece. Black and cream pillows add polish and sparkle as they serve as the back and armrests for the bench. The cozy corner is now a comfortable spot for sharing conversation and drinks.
