    SPECIAL ADVERTISING SECTION

McGlinch and Sons Company is a family owned and operated business founded in 1917. From its inception, McGlinch and Sons Company has been a company that has not just prided itself in selling and installing quality home improvements, but on being “exterior engineers” that improve the way that people live and work. We view ourselves as a consumer resource for all things exterior. Our sales staff has extensive experience in field installations, which is invaluable when making decisions on remodeling projects…it’s a touch and an experience that you can’t get at a big box retailer. Our customers see us as more than a company with a sales team…they see us as their partners in remodeling projects! Skylights have become such a strong part of our business, that we created division within our company called Michigan Skylight Pros to focus on our customers day lighting needs. From Design to completion, we are your skylight specialists!

    Tips: Adding natural light

Add some drama to your home with daylight!: When we add skylights to a room, what does it mean for a homeowner? It is much more than a renovation, according to feedback from our customers.

Light from above means changing a sad room to a happy one. A boring room to an exciting one. A drab room to a vibrant room. The emotional connection to daylight pays off tenfold to the homeowner. That’s why skylights are becoming more utilized in todays remodeling projects. Capturing daylight from a skylight allows homeowners to become inspired from above, while being inspired at home!

Do you Have a bathroom or closet with no natural light?: One of the biggest complaints of homeowners in the planning stages of a remodel is the darkness of an interior bathroom or closet. These rooms sometimes have no exterior walls, which means no windows! The Solution: Adding a Velux® Sun Tunnel™. Sun tunnels are a great (and inexpensive) way to bring the outdoors in. Not only do homeowners find the room transformed by the natural light, but they enjoy energy savings by not needing to turn on the lights during the day. After installations, homeowners find themselves looking for the switch to turn off the lights …then they realize that it is natural light from above!

Add a View to the outside with a skylight: For homeowners looking to add the “wow factor” to a room, a Velux® skylight is the perfect solution. Not only is the room getting bathed in natural light, but it is being transformed with new views to the outside. Looking for some fresh air?? Many homeowners are opting for models that can open to allow for fresh air to come into the home. The benefit? Warmer air naturally rises up. Having a venting skylight will allow homeowners to crack a window in conjunction with the skylight and create a cooler living space!
