THE PROBLEM
The 2,800-square-foot 1960s Colonial was chopped up and wholly outdated. Weidman needed to bring every room into the current century. “It wasn’t conducive to modern living,” she says.
THE KITCHEN FIX
Weidman removed the wall leading to the dining room and added warm-gray cabinetry and a cute peninsula clad with tongue-and-groove paneling. She also customized a kid-height microwave spot. Then Weidman paired beveled subway tile and light-gray grout with a quartz countertop, stainless sink, and appliances. Oak floors throughout the house were refinished in walnut. Because it’s a small kitchen, Weidman used under-cabinet lights rather than pendants to “keep the lines uncluttered,” she says. “We painted the ceiling the same color as the walls, to make the room look larger.”
THE KIDS’ BATH FIX
The space was gutted except for the drywall. Now it’s sleek and functional with new paint, cabinetry, countertop, mirrors, sinks, fixtures, floor and wall tile, pendant lighting, and more.
