Karen Van Lengen / Dean and professor of architecture, University of Virginia
Karen Van Lengen was an associate at I.M. Pei & Partners before founding her own New York-based firm. She then served as chair of architecture at Parsons School of Design prior to joining University of Virginia’s architecture school.

Christy Marshall / Editor, St. Louis Magazine At Home
The founding editor of St. Louis Magazine At Home, Christy Marshall has worked in Chicago, Dallas, and New York, while writing for publication such as Cosmopolitan, Forbes, The New York Times, and Newsday.

Kevin Alter / Architect, Alterstudio Architects
In addition to his award-winning, Austin-based professional practice, Alter has been a critic, reviewer, lecturer, and visiting professor at dozens of institutions around the world.

Randy Gragg / Editor, Portland Spaces
A writer and editor based in the northwest, Gragg has written for Metropolis, Architectural Record, Harper’s, and The New York Times Magazine. From 1989 through 2007, he covered art, culture, architecture, and urban design for The Oregonian.

Wendell Gooch / Principal, Gooch Design Studio
After interning with designer Mark Hampton and studying architecture at Rhode Island School of Design, Wendell Gooch worked in New York and Chicago before establishing Gooch Design Studio in the Windy City in 2001.

Barry Dixon / Designer, Barry Dixon, Inc.
Dixon’s impressive résumé has earned him publication in Southern Accents, Traditional Home, and House Beautiful. He’s also appeared on Good Morning America and launched a furniture line with Tomlinson/Erwin-Lambeth. Virginia-based Barry Dixon Inc. was formed in 1993 and specializes in high-end residential and commercial interiors.

Bill Ingram / Architect, Bill Ingram Architects
Ingram’s work has been featured in Veranda, House Beautiful, and House & Garden magazines, among others. His private firm — based in Birmingham, Ala. — designs houses throughout the southeast and around the country.

Jason Kontos / Editor, New York Spaces
Since his start at House Beautiful magazine, Kontos has worked at such notable national shelter publications as Country Living, Traditional Home, and Veranda. Currently, he’s editor of New York Spaces.
