Susan Lachance

Interior designer, Susan Lachance Interior Design Inc., Boca Raton, Fla.

Specializing for 35 years in high-end residential design from Miami to Palm Beach, Lachance caters to traditional, metropolitan, and contemporary design styles.

 

Jim Dove

Kitchen designer, Canterbury Design, Morristown, N.J.

A familiar face on HGTV’s Kitchen Trends, Dove has designed kitchens from California to Italy. He also helped design the International Airport in Denver.

 

Michael Speaks

Dean of the College of Design, and professor of architecture, University of Kentucky Lexington, Ky.

In addition to his impressive academic credentials in graphic design and architecture at several universities, Speaks is a founding editor of the cultural journal Polygraph and is a contributing editor for Architectural Record.

 

Christy Marshall

Editor, St. Louis Magazine’s At Home

St. Louis native Marshall is the founding editor of the shelter periodical St. Louis Magazine’s At Home, a five-year-old venture. Before returning to her hometown, Marshall worked for publications in Chicago and New York.

 

Mick De Giulio

Founder and kitchen designer, De Giulio Kitchen Design, Chicago

Not only has De Giulio created kitchens for distinctive residences here and abroad, he’s completed several commercial projects as well. His creations have appeared in several national and international shelter publications, and he’s designed bestselling product lines for the SieMatic Corp.

 

Kevin Alter

Architect, Alterstudio Architects, L.L.P., Austin, Texas

In addition to running his company, Alter is the academic director for architecture programs and professor of architecture at the University of Texas at Austin. He has edited seven books and has written for several architectural publications.

Bill Ingram

Architect, Bill Ingram Architects, Birmingham, Ala.

Ingram runs a private firm that designs houses throughout the southeast and around the country. His work has been featured in Veranda, House Beautiful, and House & Garden, among others.

 

Ken Smith

Owner and landscape architect, Workshop: Ken Smith Landscape Architect, New York City

Trained in both design and the fine arts, Smith explores the relationship among art, contemporary culture, and landscape. He has taught at Harvard and the City College of New York.

Barton Myers

Architect, Barton Myers Associates, Inc., Los Angeles

Norfolk, Va., native Myers has enjoyed a career spanning more than 40 years in Canada and the United States. He was the recipient of the first Toronto Arts Award for Architecture, as well as the American Institute of Architects 2002 Housing PIA Award for Innovation in Housing Design. Myers is also the author of 3 Steel Houses.
