The Detroit Design team sought out some of the country’s most esteemed interior designers, architects, industry leaders, textile artists, and landscape firms to analyze each entry and bring you this year’s class of winners. GINGER CURTIS
Ginger Curtis is the founder and CEO of Urbanology Designs, based in Dallas and Fort Worth. Her projects are soulful and human, rather than trend-driven. Her work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Veranda, House Beautiful, and more. JESSICA DAVIS
The force behind multifaceted design studio Atelier Davis is Jessica Davis, creative director of the hardware brand Nest Studio and president of the AAPI Design Alliance. Davis, whose firm has offices in Atlanta and New York, offers a creative vision with influences found in historic and contemporary art and architecture. PETER DUNHAM
Based in Los Angeles and New York, interior, textile, and furnishings designer Peter Dunham is known for blending European and tribal influences with relaxed California living, and embracing color and pattern. He also founded Hollywood at Home and Peter Dunham Home & Garden, offering custom furniture and vintage pieces as well as his own textile and wall covering line. JOSH GREENE
New York-based interior designer Josh Greene offers a collaborative approach to creating stylish environments that balance functionality, refinement, and comfort. Greene has worked for the likes of MR Architecture + Décor, Ralph Lauren, Michael Smith, and Sawyer Berson. LIAM AND ERIKA HARDMAN
Liam and Erika Hardman founded Hardman, makers of hardwood furniture. Liam, raised in a family of builders and shaped by years in Berlin, leads design and production, while Erika, born in Lithuania, leads brand strategy and marketing, and brings a human lens to the company. ASHLEY HUGHES
Muse Noire, based in North Carolina and Texas, is led by founder and principal designer Ashley Hughes. Hughes was named by Architectural Digest as among the 21 Black Women Changing the Architecture and Design Space, was among House Beautiful Magazine’s 2024 Next Wave Class, and is a Kips Bay Designer alum. San Francisco-based Noz Nozawa is celebrated for her commitment to artful and highly personal interiors, while her designs are known for helping her clients access joy and love. Anooshey Rahim leads her San Francisco-based landscape architecture practice, Dune Hai, with empathy and positivity. Degrees in art and art history from the University of Texas at Austin and master’s degrees in architecture and landscape architecture from the Weitzman School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania have influenced her principles. JASMIT SINGH RANGR
Jasmit Singh Rangr, raised in India and the U.K., has lived in the U.S. since attending Yale University. In 2004 he founded Rangr Studio, which is committed to being harmonious with the landscape, climate, and the environment. His firm has designed and built projects across the United States and internationally, and his work has been published in over 40 countries. An Emmy Award–nominated television host, real estate expert, designer, author, and entrepreneur, Dr. Egypt Sherrod is best known as the host/executive producer of HGTV’s Married to Real Estate. She’s also the founder and CEO of the Indigo Road family of companies, which includes residential brokerage, design services, and her décor line. Lalese Stamps (also known as Lolly) is a Brooklyn-based spatial designer and founder of Lolly Lolly Ceramics. With nearly a decade of experience in ceramics, her practice has expanded into furniture, lighting, and interiors, bridging art and everyday living. Practicing out of Nashville, Ryan Thewes’ namesake architectural firm fuses organic principles with modern architecture and green building practices to create a unique style that continues to gain national attention.
