From an early age, JEREMY CORKERN loved aesthetics and design. At 14, he was taken under the wing of architect A. Hays Town, considered to be “The Master of Louisiana Style.” Corkern credits his experience with Town as his largest influence. At age 25, Corkern went into business with Paul Bates; they opened Bates Corkern Studio in 2000. In 2016, he opened Jeremy Corkern Studio, based in Birmingham, Ala., and New Orleans. KAREN DAVIS, who began her interior design practice in 1992 in Los Angeles and now is based in Connecticut, received her design degree from UCLA’s Architecture + Interior Design program. Her projects range from a 55-room boutique hotel in England to a 1,000-room business hotel in Orlando and luxury apartment hotels for business travelers in the Philippines.
