INTERIOR DESIGNER CELERIE KEMBLE of Kemble Interiors one of the judges for this year’s Detroit Home Design Awards, is a sunshine-lover from way back. Her firm, based in New York and Palm Beach, Fla., tackles everything from urban penthouses to coastal retreats to beach resorts. Naturally, the sunniest colors in her repertoire are various shades of yellow — colors that “feel fresh and bright at all times, and stand up to the hot Florida sun,” she says, referring to the space shown here. “The shade on the walls is an acid green-yellow that looks great off whites,” she adds. This image and more of the designer’s works can be seen in To Your Taste, published by Clarkson Potter ($45, available wherever books are sold).
